English Corner

Well, a while back, a couple was here sharing English teaching methods. So, M, who holds an English class at the hospital, started using the new methods he learned. For the past couple weeks, he's trying to get people to 'talk'. He got this 'model' of body parts made for students to use. The game was funny. it goes like this, I'm going to surgery and I'm going to take out or put in xyz. The funny thing is.... we don't always put it back in at the right places and you can see Dr. M was really uncomfortable about the misplaced parts. He's so professional that he can't evan stand a model that's not properly presented. Although most students are either dr. or drs to be, there are 'us', the foreigners, who have no clue about the medical stuff. We were there to be 'practiced on'. ;-) Students were all nervous enough having to speak English. So, they just kinda said the sentence and threw the parts in. Then, this guy being the last one in a round held a lung with him. He said he was gonna put in a lung and then just threw it in the pile and the model lung fell on a colon... Immediately, Dr. M's reaction was 'no... it doesn't go there' and put the organs back at the right places. It's just hilarious to see his facial expression.


Voila, that was our Wed. night fun. And we go to M's apt after class for some sharing.
Last week was all about organs and this week's all about bones. Do you know there're two bones in each arm and leg... you know.. the radius - ulna and tibia - fibula... ok. it was just me thinking that I have only tibia and radius-ulna was one big bone.... :p i mean, common. look at your own arm, does it look like there are 2 bones in there?? it doesn't!
