it's raining cats & dogs outside. the wedding yesterday was nice and different. It was semi-traditional where the groom comes to the bride's house in the morning and take her away from her parents back to his home symbolizing 'marriage'. It's not like where the Bible says both man & woman leave their homes and are united but more like the girl leaves home to join the husband's family.

Once the bride arrived at the groom's home. the mother in law (since it's single-parent home) received the bride into their home and bless the marriage. then certain food were eaten to symbolize good wishes for marriages such as wishing for a baby boy next year.

The reception was in the evening. I got to see quite a few cousins that I haven't seen in many years. What a blessing! Tons of delicate food, too. The reception is not all that traditional.. in the sense that there was a western style appetizer for people to just hang out before the banquet started and I had helped make the cocktails and cut the cheese even as a bridesmaid! In this culture, bridesmaid is literally bride's maid, who takes care of little things or tighten up loose ends for the bride! Very interesting. 

one of the highlights was when the bride (yes) played a song that she wrote for the groom. My cousin's talented!
